The Stony Plain Road Business Association (SPRBA) is seeking fun, energetic, Edmonton-based musicians for our outdoor Music On Stony Plain Road summer event series!
About the Event & SPRBA
Representing over 500 businesses in a 30-block radius, the SPRBA champions our evolving and connected business community. We promote our area as a distinct, authentic destination for businesses and patrons alike. Through targeted placemaking and outdoor events, we aim to vibrantly activate our main street while awaiting the completion of the Valley Line West LRT!
Previously a Wednesday tradition in Butler Memorial Park, our rebranded “Music On Stony Plain Road” is moving to Saturdays at various dynamic locations along our main street. This free, family-friendly series features local talent, promotes community connection, and supports our local business roots. We’re encouraging residents to bring a lawn chair, grab a sun hat, and enjoy the great tunes!
Performance Structure & Expectations
We are seeking local solo and group acts interested in the following structure:
- Set Length: 40 - 60 minute outdoor set, dependant on days schedule
- Time Commitment: Artists must arrive 45 minutes prior to their set time for setup/soundcheck. Estimated total time on-site is up to two (2) plus hours.
- A short intermission will permit musicians to set up between sets.
- Event schedule dependant on the musician applicants selected for each day
- Discussion with each musician to clarify and confirm exact timeframes
Timing & Availability
Musicians must be available for at least one of the following Saturday dates and time slots:
- Dates: June 27 | July 11 | July 25 | August 8
- Approximate Time Slots*: (6 - 7pm) OR (7:30 - 830pm)
*NOTE: Time slots are approximate and will vary based on final musicians selected. For example, we may choose to feature three 45 minute sets for one date.
Equipment & Production
- Access to a reliable power source will be provided on-site.
- Asset: The ability to bring some of your own sound equipment (PA system, microphone stands, speakers
- Please clarify in your application exactly what gear you can provide. Additional compensation for equipment use can be discussed.
Financial Compensation
- Solo Acts: Artist fee of up to $500
- Group Acts: Artist fee of up to: Duo $700; Trio $1000, 4+ $1250
- Note: Additional compensation or travel considerations may be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

- Your date and time slot availability from the list above.
- A quick note on your equipment availability (e.g., "Can provide own 2-speaker PA and mics").
