The Stony Plain Road Business Association is looking for dynamic people to join our team for summer 2026! These are in-person staff roles based in the heart of our community.

Content Creator (15 weeks)
Special Events Assistant (12 weeks)
Outreach Navigator (15 weeks)

Content Creator

This position is requires an individual with experience in online content writing and creation. You will be telling stories via imagery and writing to animate the experiences, businesses and activities throughout Jasper Place. Familiarity with photography and video storytelling is essential. Understanding the pairing of our brand with your unique voice is what we are looking for.

This role will greatly enhance our organizational capacity in terms of members' relations, community outreach and engagement, and brand articulation support for the varied roles our organization creates and towards creating community safety and wellbeing within an evolving district with many intersecting needs. This role will be supported and work directly with our Marketing & Communications Coordinator to provide collaborative and complementary content for our various communications streams and marketing engagements.

The ideal candidate would have a piqued interest in communities and want to express this through writing and narrative experimentation. A strong written skill-set would be essential. This position has great capacity to continue into the academic year or as a freelance position.

This temporary position is for 15 weeks (30 hours/week) at an hourly rate of $19.

Special Events Assistant

You will be lead staff in various special events over the summer months. Responsibilities include coordinating and executing Music In the Park, a singer songwriter series that happens weekly, every Wednesday at 5-7 PM, and the annual Movies @ Mayfield.

Duties will include coordinating artistic acts, logistics, community relations and event coordination. Some previous experience in project coordination is an asset, but a positive attitude and problem solving skills are essential! Must be eager to work with a small team and comfortable communicating with a wide spectrum of personalities.You will work directly with our Member Services Coordinator and be eager and innovative.

This temporary position is for 12 weeks (32 hours/week) at an hourly rate of $19.

Applicants will be required to work some weekends and evenings depending upon the scheduling of events and projects. This position will require on-site working.

Outreach Navigator

You will be part of our Outreach Navigator initiative, which provides support and program innovations to businesses in the Stony Plain Road Business Improvement Area that have issues related to social disorder and community wellbeing. To support businesses navigating challenges related to the intersectional issues of homelessness, poverty and the visible effects of social disorder you will work with a small team of navigators to link existing programs, develop resources and pathways to social supports and navigate pathways for enhanced safety and community wellbeing. Working experience and/or understanding of urban environment issues is key. A collective problem-solving approach with compassion is essential.

This temporary position is for 15 weeks at an hourly wage of $19.

This position is funded in part through Employment and Social Development Canada through Canada Summer Jobs. Applicants should be 30 years of age or younger.
