Show your ALL STAR support for our local businesses by completing this SPRBA contest! All you have to do is pick a point of the star to complete and take photos to enter. Tag @Stonyplainroad on social media for your chance to win some memorable prizes, including gift certificates to your favourite businesses in the 142 St area! Contest ends September 7, 2025.

ALL STAR CATEGORIES - 5 WAYS YOU CAN ENTER

1. Snap a Photo - Showcase the 142 St / West Block area by snapping a photo. This could be a shot of you by some flowers / murals, a photo of one of the small businesses, etc. Get creative and show us how you see the community!
2. Self Care - Relax, rejuvenate and explore local wellness essentials...whether it's a sugaring treatment from Sucre, A fresh cut at The Cutting Room, a class at Forum Pilates or a healthcare appointment from the Westgrove Building. Snap a photo to show you practicing some self care!
3. Grab a Sweet Treat - Try a delicious baked good or drink from Square 1, soft serve ice cream from Leopard or desserts from Zula or El Corazon. Capture your sweet treat on photo and share it to inspire our next indulgence in the area. 
4. It’s still summer & thus patio season! Grab a sunny seat on a patio around the 142nd / West Block area. Make sure to snap a photo of your cute cocktail, happy hour order or your patio partner.
5. Retail Therapy - Shopping is sweeter when you're shopping local! Treat yourself or someone special to a purchase from Floc, Fellow by Floc, or a handmade pick from Square 1!Visit the businesses on 142 St and area. Check out the full list of places below!

There’s a series of upcoming events taking place at West Block that you won’t want to miss!

Patio Party | Enjoy some great live music on select Wednesday evenings, includes happy hour deals and exclusive food & drink specials (August 13, 20, 27 and September 3)

Grand Night Market | Local shopping, dining, live music and community fun on September 12 from 5 – 10 PM

Lost & Found Market |  a curated vintage market with unique vintage wears, handmade goods, and timeless treasures from some of the best local vendors around. The next Lost & Found event is taking place on August 10 from 10 AM – 4 PM.

West Block Food Crawl | Experience the delicious culinary scene at West Block on August 20! It’s your chance to try signature dishes, explore new favourites and fill up on fun. Enter the ALL STAR contest, you and a guest can attend for FREE.

KEEP SUPPORTING LOCAL
The Accelerated Valley Line West Construction is underway and impacting businesses in the 142 St area. These include the businesses within West Block Glenora, Westgrove Medical Centre and beloved standalone icons like Tasty Tomato. 142 St has everything you need, from wellness and medical services to the best patios and retail therapy. Keep supporting local and showing businesses in the area some love by discovering something new or continuing to visit your favourite business. There’s lots to discover on Stony Plain Road and nearby neighbourhoods.  

Dates & Timelines: Fast-tracked accelerated construction started in June with a scheduled completion in September. Access to and from Stony Plain Road from the north side of 143 Street will be closed. Traffic in the area has been shifted south and permanently reduced to a single lane in either direction. Turn movements will be maintained where access permits. Pedestrian access will be maintained with detours in place.

Make visiting easy: Walk or bike to visit the 142 St area! If you're planning to drive, parking is available at West Block, where you can enjoy 2-hours of free parking (paid parking is available for longer visits), as well as bike parking options (142 St & Stony Plain Rd). West Block has also provided easy-to-use maps with directions on where to park during regular visits or special events.

CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE
