MacKinnon Ravine Pedestrian Footbridge Reopening 2024
You're invited! Join us for the reopening of the mackinnon ravine pedestrian footbridge
Construction on the MacKinnon Ravine Pedestrian Footbridge is finally complete! Grab your friends and family, pick up a warm drink from Ch. Cafeteria, and join us for the official ribbon cutting ceremony — just in time for the changing leaves and cooling breeze!
Following the demolition of the MacKinnon Ravine Pedestrian Footbridge in 2022 and construction efforts throughout 2023 and early 2024, the bridge is now safely open to the public. The Stony Plain Road area, along with the nearby communities of Crestwood and Grovenor, is once again connected to the wider Edmonton River Valley trail system thanks to the project’s completion!
Let’s celebrate our community together! You can help further uplift our community by bringing donations of winter coats, hats, and mitts for the United Way.
When:
Saturday, October 5th between 1 - 4 P.M. (official ribbon cutting at 2 P.M.)
Where:
148 Street between Stony Plain Road and Summit Drive
What to expect:
- Official ribbon cutting ceremony
- Live musical performers
- Free pizza
- Yummy beverages from Ch. Cafeteria
- Donations of winter coats, gloves, hats, and socks are welcome!
Thank you to the Crestwood Community League, the Grovenor Community League, and citizens within Jasper Place for collaborating with the SPRBA in organizing this celebration party!
